Diisopropyl Zinc solution - Introduction

Diisopropylzinc(Diisopropylzinc) is an organic zinc compound with the chemical formula (Zn(C3H7)2). The following is a description of the nature, use, manufacture and safety information of the Diisopropylzinc:

Nature:
-Appearance: Diisopropylzinc is a colorless to yellow liquid with a strong smell.
-Melting Point:-78°C
-Boiling point: 106°C
-Density: 0.877g/cm³
-Solubility: Soluble in common organic solvents, such as ether and disulfide.

Use:
-Catalyst: Diisopropylzinc is commonly used as a precursor for complex catalysts, for example, in organic synthesis to catalyze the reaction between carbene and olefins.
-Chemical reagent: Diisopropylzinc is also an important reagent, often used in complex reactions in organic synthesis, such as Suzuki coupling reactions.

Preparation Method:
Diisopropylzinc are generally prepared by the following steps:
1. first prepare zinc powder and two equivalent isopropyl halogen compounds, such as isopropyl zinc bromide.
2. The zinc powder and isopropyl halogen compound are added to a drying agent such as tetrahydrofuran and reacted to produce Diisopropylzinc.

Safety Information:
- Diisopropylzinc are highly reactive and easily react violently with other compounds, so be careful when operating.
- Diisopropylzinc is a flammable liquid. It will burn when exposed to open fire or high temperature. It should be stored away from the fire source and avoid reacting with oxygen in the air.
- Diisopropylzinc irritant to skin and eyes. Avoid direct contact during operation and ensure operation under good ventilation.
-Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as lab gloves and goggles, when using the Diisopropylzinc.
